Short-term Foster Care Home

Journey House is a unique temporary home that provides a safe, comforting place for children who are entering foster care while a suitable placement is being identified. Before Journey House opened, many children spent their first nights in foster care sleeping in agency offices or hotel rooms. Today, they are welcomed into a warm, home-like environment designed specifically to help them feel safe, valued, and cared for during a difficult transition.

Children may stay at Journey House for up to three nights alongside their caseworker. During that time, trained Spread Hope Now volunteers serve in short shifts, preparing home-cooked meals, playing games, reading books, offering encouragement, and praying for the children. This support not only provides comfort and stability for the child, but also allows caseworkers to focus their attention on securing the best possible placement.

Every child who stays at Journey House receives new clothing, a stuffed animal, a Bible, and a suitcase of their own—small but meaningful reminders that they are loved and worthy of care.

Journey House exists due to the generosity of our community! Through donated resources, volunteer support, and countless acts of kindness, children entering foster care are met not with uncertainty, but with warmth, dignity, and hope.
